Disposable Email Addresses
So many times on the web you are asked for an email address when you would really prefer not to give it out. There are so many ‘one time use sites’ that once they get your address you are a victim of SPAM forever. Wouldn’t it be great if there was a service that could provide a temporary email address for sign ups? Well there is and they have existed for quite some time.
Enter Melt Mail, a disposable email address service. Now they aren’t the only kids on the block, but I like them a lot.

Can Receive But Not Send Email
There are a great many reasons a user may not be able to send email but can receive it just fine. This will focus on some of the more common issues mostly involving Outlook and Outlook Express. Below are some common questions you can ask yourself to assist in troubleshooting:
- Has the ISP\email provider recently changed?
- Has the email account info been changed recently?

This has been the case with quite a few ISP’s to restrict SMTP traffic due to worm activity. You should be able to get this information from your ISP technical support (Rogers and Bell usually require relaying through their SMTP) . To check your SMTP authentication read this.

Now you can finally migrate all your Hotmail messages into a much superior Gmail account with Microsoft’s addition of POP3 and SMTP. Some countries (United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, France, Japan, Spain, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands) already have this feature, but it will not be worldwide until the end of 2009. However, with a little trickery it can be accessed by everyone now.
To setup POP3 and SMTP with your Hotmail aka Windows Live Mail you need to know some server settings.
